INTENSIVE LEARNING: CICERO TERM
Learn Latin intensively over a term. The program includes 12 thematic modules taught by your tutor, who holds a doctorate in Latin studies and is a researcher in a team at University Sorbonne Nouvelle – Paris 3.
Each module consists of 4 hours of online classes (via Google Meet) held over one week.
The program lasts for three months and includes:
Consultations via WhatsApp: you will be able to ask your tutor questions on a WhatsApp chat group throughout the term.
A private Twitter feed: you’ll have access to proverbs and expressions in Latin published weekly. This feed is private and reserved exclusively for students in the program.
Weekly vocabulary sheets.
OPTION FACULTATIVE ET SPÉCIALITÉ LLCA DANS LE SYSTÈME SCOLAIRE FRANÇAIS
Au collège et au lycée, en France et dans les lycées français dans le monde, le latin et le grec font l’objet d’une option facultative. Ils peuvent aussi être une spécialité de lycée, LLCA (Langues, Littératures et Culture de l’Antiquité).
Pour les enseignements optionnels, en seconde, on étudiera « L’homme et l’animal » , « L’homme et le divin » , «Soi-même et l’autre » , « Méditerranée : voyager, explorer, découvrir » .
En première : « Vivre dans la cité » , « Les dieux dans la cité » , « Masculin, féminin » , « Méditerranée : conflits, influences et échanges » .
En terminale : « Leçons de sagesse antique » , « Comprendre le monde » , « Inventer, créer, fabriquer, produire » , « Méditerranée : présence des mondes antiques » .
Pour les spécialités : en première, quatre objets d’étude sont proposés : « La cité entre réalités et utopies » ; «Justice des dieux, justice des hommes » ; « Amour, Amours » et « Méditerranée : conflits, influences et échanges ». En terminale, il y a trois objets d’étude : « L’homme, le monde, le destin » ; « croire, savoir, douter » ; «Méditerranée : présence des mondes antiques » et un corpus de deux œuvres intégrales (une antique, une autre médiévale, moderne ou contemporaine).
Qu’en est-il de l’évaluation ? Pour les enseignements optionnels, les notes des évaluations réalisées en classe comptent dans la moyenne du contrôle continu. Pour la spécialité, en terminale, une épreuve finale écrite de quatre heures est réalisée. Celle-ci se compose de deux parties : étude de langue (un passage à traduire en français, une question de lexique et une question de grammaire) et une question de compréhension et d’interprétation, à laquelle il faut répondre sous la forme d’un essai organisé et argumenté, en s’appuyant notamment sur les textes d’un corpus (dans le sujet de l’épreuve) et sur les œuvres étudiées au programme. En sus de cette épreuve, comme pour toute spécialité, l’élève devra passer le Grand oral.
